Right of reply

Every profiled official receives a pre-publication letter and is offered the opportunity to respond. Their full response will be published verbatim.

The process

  1. Before any profile is published (indexed), a pre-publication letter is sent to the subject at their institutional email, stating every numerical claim the profile will make and every question the profile will pose, and offering at least 10 calendar days to respond.
  2. If a response arrives within the window, it is rendered verbatim in the profile's Right of reply block. The profile's status badge becomes Response received.
  3. If no response arrives, the status badge becomes Asked for comment — no response, with the date asked. The profile is then indexed.
  4. If the subject declines, the badge becomes Declined to comment.
  5. A subject may submit an updated response at any time after publication. The most recent response replaces the prior one. The previous response is archived on the changelog.

What will be published

We publish responses verbatim. We will not edit, paraphrase, or selectively quote a response. We reserve only these three editorial interventions:

How to submit

Send to reply@deklarata.com in plain text or markdown. Include the profile URL you are replying to in the subject line. Submissions can be in Albanian, Serbian, or English — we publish in the language submitted and link the auto-translated version from the other locales.
